About me
1990s
I grew up in São Paul, Brazil where at the age of 13 learnt to build and repair computers and started to help a charity my parents setup that educated youths in shanty towns. I went on to build their first website in Flash.
2001
At the age of 16, I moved to Bournemouth, UK to do further education and funded myself by building websites and doing graphic design for local bars events.
2008
I graduated from Bournemouth with a BA(hons) Interactive Media & Graphic Design and got my first job at AutoTrader as a Creative Designer.
2010
I then started commuting to London to work for an agency called Thrudigital which opened me up to working with clients and the fast paced work life. The agency was then acquired by Idio Platform where I worked as their UI Designer.
2012
Having only recently married I chose to ditch the commute and work for a local agency called UKWebMedia (now Comparison Tech) who was building large comparison sites. This was a great experience where I could level up the agencie's design processes and implement from agile methods.
2013
🏃♂️ Ran the London Marathon and loved it! Then moved down to sunny Devon to join a crazy startup called Crowdcube to lead their design efforts.
2016
I left Crowdcube as their Head of Design with a team of 5 designers to join Venture Harbour as their Head of Product. This was my first taste of remote working which I have fallen in love with, especially now with children and the beach down the road.
2021
After launching 4 products with Venture Harbour I decided to move on to work for a local company in the gaming sector called Nexus Mods.
2023 - Present
Now growing and coaching a team of designers to build the world largest mods site with almost 40 million registered users.
